Groundwater and river water throughout Japan often contain high levels of iron and manganese due to local geological conditions. Since the presence of iron and manganese causes various problems in drinking water, domestic water, _and all industrial water uses, it is essential to remove them appropriately.
Developed specifically to treat the high concentrations of iron _and manganese primarily found in groundwater, the high-performance iron _and manganese removal filter media [Ferrolite HC/GC] was created through extensive research _and development.
Features
●Superior iron & manganese removal performance
Based on a porous material containing fine bubbles, this filter media exhibits superior iron and manganese removal performance due to its higher manganese content on the media surface compared to conventional manganese sand. Specifically for manganese, it can handle levels below the water supply standard of 0.05 mg/L but also meets the high standards required for distilled water in breweries _and similar facilities (0.02 mg/L or less).
●Long Service Life
The iron _and manganese removal process using this media employs a chlorine-based catalytic contact oxidation method. A special chemical on the media surface triggers an autocatalytic reaction, adsorbing target substances onto the media surface for removal. Unlike activated carbon, it does not become saturated _and undergoes continuous regeneration. This eliminates the need for frequent media replacement, enabling long-term use.
●Easy Commissioning
The activation required during commissioning is straightforward _and can be completed quickly. It delivers excellent removal performance from the outset.
Standard Product
We offer two types of products with different densities to enable versatile customization as high-performance filter media.
Ferrolite HC
Can be used in combination with anthracite and ceramic filter media for multi-layer filtration.
This enables single-tower treatment for groundwater that previously required two-tower processing for turbidity removal plus iron and manganese removal.
Ferrolite GC
Its low density enables efficient backwashing expansion, reducing the amount of cleaning water required _and allowing for more effective water utilization.When placing your order, please specify the product name.
