Hypoinjection volume calculation Hypochlorite injection volume calculation

Hypochlorite injection volume calculation

When injecting hypochlorite at the target concentration with respect to the raw water flow rate

Metering pump injection volume[mL/min] = ( Raw water flow[m3/h] / 60 ) × Target hypochlorite concentration[mg/L] * Dilution factor ÷ Hypochlorite [%] ÷ Liquid specific gravity

Input

Raw water flow(m3/h)
Target hypochlorite concentration(mg/L)
Injection hypochlorite
Hypochlorite(%)
Liquid specific gravity
Dilution factor

Result:Metering pump injection volume

mL/min
mL/h
L/h

The result of this calculation is just a reference value and does not guarantee the pros and cons of neutralization.

When injecting hypochlorite into the tank to reach the target chlorine concentration

Required hypochlorite injection amount[mL] = Total amount of raw water[m3] × ( Target hypochlorite concentration[mg/L] - Current hypochlorite concentration[mg/L] ) ÷ Injection hypochlorite[%] ÷ Liquid specific gravity

Input

Total amount of raw water(m3)
Current hypochlorite concentration(mg/L)
Target hypochlorite concentration(mg/L)
Injection hypochlorite
Injection hypochlorite(%)
Liquid specific gravity

Result:Required hypochlorite injection amount

mL

The result of this calculation is just a reference value and does not guarantee the pros and cons of neutralization.

* The specific gravity of 12% sodium hypochlorite is 1.2 and the calculation is simple.

* If you are using low-salt hypochlorite, the chlorine concentration will be slightly higher because the specific gravity is a few percent lighter.
