NEUTRALIZATION CALCULATION pH neutralization calculation

Calculation of P injection amount in the table to neutralize to pH 7 by adding alkali to remove the acid system

Relationship table of concentration and specific gravity of sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)

concentration (%) 1 6 12 20 24 30 36 40 48
specific gravity 1.01 1.06 1.13 1.22 1.26 1.33 1.39 1.43 1.51

Input

Raw water flow(m3/h)
Raw water pH
Margin ※1
Chemical name
Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)
Chemical concentration(%)
specific gravity

Result

Medication amount(L/h)
Medication amount(mL/min)

The result of this calculation is just a reference value and does not guarantee the pros and cons of neutralization. It is best to investigate and determine the actual dosage by neutralization titration with sample water.

*1 Margin
In the actual neutralization reaction, it is rarely neutralized according to theory because of the formation of salts between the neutralizing chemicals and the components contained in the water. Therefore, the calculation result multiplied by the margin is used as a guideline for the dosage. (Margin: about 3 to 10 times)
